HearthVault launches to help families get their affairs in order — and find everything when it matters most
A private, encrypted family vault that brings estate documents, e-signatures, emergency access and executor tools together in one place, starting free.
HearthVault today announced the public launch of HearthVault.family, a secure online vault that helps families organize their most important documents, prepare their estate plans and give the right people access at the right time.
Most families keep wills, insurance policies, account details and passwords scattered across a filing cabinet, an inbox, a phone and one person's memory. When there's an emergency or a death, loved ones are left searching. HearthVault puts it all in one encrypted vault and guides families through what's missing.
“The worst day of a family's life shouldn't also be a scavenger hunt. We built HearthVault so the people you love can find what they need, and know what to do, without guessing.”
What HearthVault does
- One encrypted home for family documents. Upload or photograph wills, deeds, insurance cards, IDs and tax records; HearthVault files them and reminds you about renewals.
- Estate planning, guided. A step-by-step document library shows what's done and what's missing, and drafts fill in blanks from information already in the vault.
- AI document review. Wills and powers of attorney are checked against the signing rules for the family's home state, with suggested fixes before anything is signed.
- Built-in e-signatures. Send documents for signature without leaving the vault.
- Emergency access. A printable wallet card, family access codes, one-time guest codes for caregivers, and an emergency kit shared through a secure, expiring link.
- Executor mode. A dated, step-by-step plan for the person handling an estate, with letters already written.
- Password vault. Import from popular password managers and spot weak or reused logins.
- English and Spanish.
Built for families, and the professionals who serve them
HearthVault offers plans for financial advisors, who can give vaults to client households, and for employers, who can offer it as a benefit. A public product roadmap lets families vote on what gets built next.
Pricing and availability
HearthVault is available now at hearthvault.family. A free plan holds up to 25 documents. Plus is $8 a month or $79 a year, and the Family plan is $18 a month or $179 a year.
