Move a Google Drive folder into HearthVault
Kept everything in a Drive folder? Download it once and let HearthVault's AI read, name and file every document — or connect Drive and let it watch the folder.
1. Export from Google Drive
- 1In Google Drive, right-click the folder → Download. Drive zips it for you (large folders arrive as several ZIPs — add them all).
- 2Or use the wizard's “Choose a folder” button to upload straight from your computer.
- 3Google Docs and Sheets are exported as Word/Excel files — the AI reads those too.
- 4Prefer it automatic? Connect Google in the vault instead and pick folders to watch — new files file themselves hourly.
2. What lands where

Sub-folder names become tags so your own organisation survives the move; each file notes it was imported from Google Drive.
3. Import in HearthVault
- Create your vault (name + PIN, one minute), or open the Switch wizard from “Add documents” in an existing vault.
- Pick Google Drive, drop the ZIP or choose the folder — files upload in small pieces.
- Check the preview: one row per folder with a suggested category you can change.
- Start the import and carry on; a progress bar shows each document as it's filed.
Staged files are deleted the moment the import finishes; filed documents are encrypted at rest.
