Move a Dropbox folder into HearthVault
Download the folder from Dropbox and drop the ZIP into HearthVault. The AI reads every file, sets the category and pulls out dates worth remembering.
1. Export from Dropbox
- 1On dropbox.com, hover the folder → ⋯ → Download (Dropbox zips folders up to 20 GB).
- 2Or, if Dropbox is synced to this computer, use “Choose a folder” in the wizard.
- 3Drop the ZIP into the wizard. Sub-folders are kept as tags.

Folder names become tags and every document carries an “Imported from Dropbox” note.
3. Import in HearthVault
- Create your vault (name + PIN, one minute), or open the Switch wizard from “Add documents” in an existing vault.
- Pick Dropbox, drop the ZIP or choose the folder — files upload in small pieces.
- Check the preview: one row per folder with a suggested category you can change.
- Start the import and carry on; a progress bar shows each document as it's filed.
Staged files are deleted the moment the import finishes; filed documents are encrypted at rest.
